Doves: symbolize peace, love, motherhood, and celestial messenger.

Motherhood because their way of life is very similar to the motherly instincts we have as humans.  Doves are self-sacrificing and will even stop eating before laying their eggs, just to ensure they have enough milk for their offsprings.

Celestial messenger as they are seen as messengers from a higher place. Due to their soft  and divine appearance they are thought to be like angels in disguise.

Peace. In the story of “Noah’s Ark” the dove comes back with an olive twig. Signifying there was land nearby after the flood.

Love. Based on greek mythology, Aphrodite-the goddess of love, was often depicted with doves resting in her hand or fluttering around her head.

Humming birds: symbolize perseverance, re-opening of the heart, life is to be savored, and spiritual gift.

Spiritual gift: humming birds do not flap their wings up and down like the majority of birds do. Instead, they move them in a fast circular motion. This motion looks closely like the infinity symbol. Giving them the symbol of eternity and everlasting life.

life is to be savored: This is due to their lifestyle choice. Because hummingbirds eat the sweet nectars off flowers, it is said gifting a date humming birds signifies the relishing the sweetness of life together.

Perseverance: humming birds are capable of flying long distances and so are a great reminder of perseverance.

Re-opening the heart: They are known for being an appropriate gift to give someone who is suffering from a loss. Or gifting to someone you would like to regain affection towards.

Parrots: symbolize compassion, communication and purity

Communication due to their well known ability to imitate the human voice.

Purity: during the medieval times, it was seen that parrots only made their nests where it did not rain. Therefore the nest was not stained by mud.

Compassion because it is believed that the parrot wants to know what you are thinking so it can reflect your thoughts back to you.
